Terms of Service

modagi lets a host create an invitation page for an event, most commonly a wedding. Guests who receive the link can choose a character, join a shared space and leave messages. The host can view the space and the guests who have joined.

We may improve, change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature you have bought, we will offer a refund for the affected event.

Hosts sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. Provide accurate information and tell us if you suspect unauthorized use.

You are responsible for the events you create and for any personal data you collect from your guests through modagi, including registration answers and contact details. You must have a lawful basis to collect and use that data, tell your guests how it is used, and respond to their requests.

Do not share an invitation link publicly if you want the event to stay private. Do not use modagi to collect sensitive data that the service is not designed for.

Guests may submit names, characters and messages. Content must not be unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, misleading or infringe anyone's rights, and must not contain malware or spam.

Hosts can hide guests' messages from their space, and anyone can report content to us at the contact email below. We may remove content or suspend access that violates these Terms, and we may preserve and disclose content where the law requires.

Each event includes a free tier that shows a limited number of guests in the space. To show more guests you can buy a paid plan for that event. Paid plans are one-time payments per event, not subscriptions, and do not renew. Current plans and prices in US dollars are listed on the Pricing page.

Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as merchant of record. Polar collects payment and applicable taxes, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout. We do not receive your full card details.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.

You keep ownership of the content you and your guests submit. You give us a limited licence to host, display and process it only to operate the service for you. modagi, its software, characters, artwork and branding belong to us and our licensors. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the service except as allowed by law.

You can stop using modagi and ask us to delete your account and events at any time. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or misuse the service. How long we keep data is described in the Privacy Policy.

modagi is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and you should not rely on it as the only way to reach your guests. Keep your own guest list and event details.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected event in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

These Terms are governed by the law stated in the operator information on this page, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally.

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use modagi after that means you accept the updated Terms. Contact us at the email shown on this page.
